FIRST SOME BASIC INFO ABOUT CHRYSLER/JEEP UNITS.

CHRYSLER AND JEEP UNIT HAVE NO REGULATOR IN THE ALTERNATOR, THE REGULATOR IS IN THE ECU.

MANY PEOPLE REPLACE UNITS BECAUSE THE VOLT METER IS VERY ERRATIC IN ITS READING. HOWEVER THIS IS NORMAL. THE ECU LOOKS AT OUTSIDE TEMP, ENGINE TEMP, LOAD, VOLTAGE, AND OTHER ENGINE FACTORS TO DETERMINE THE RATE OF CHARGE, AS APPOSED TO ALL OTHER UNITS THAT ONLY LOOK AT THE VOLTAGE. SO THE BATTERY IS CHARGE MORE ACCURATELY. THIS HOWEVER CAN LEAD TO POWER PROBLEMS WHEN IT COMES TO STEREOS. THE ONLY WAY AROUND THIS IS A DUAL ALTERNATOR, HOWEVER WE SEE THAT MOST HIGH AMP UNITS WILL WORK QUITE WELL UP TO 200 AMPS, IF YOU NEED MORE THAN THAT WE WILL BUILD A CUSTOM UNIT TO MEET YOUR NEEDS.

MOPAR/JEEP:

Rush Power Systems offers the large Denso unit. It is fully compatible withall Chrysler computers. NOTE- on 90's and up Chrysler and Jeep alternators, the regulators are in the factory computer. Some shops will try to adapt the GM or FORD alternator to work, unless this is done correctly you run the risk of damaging the computer! . Finish options are plain, polished, and coated.
